Township Roadways To Be Seal Coated Week Of July 25th

The Township’s contractor will be working to complete this year’s scheduled seal coating (oil and chip) of six Township roadways during the week of July 25th (weather permitting).  These roadways are:

Stellar Drive

Quasar Drive

Kelly Avenue

Janet Drive

Oak Lane

Please be aware that these roads may be closed for short periods of time while the contractor is working.  However, the duration of the closure should be brief.  In addition, motorists should take care when driving on freshly oiled and chipped roadways.

The contractor will be returning to Stellar Drive, Quasar Drive, Kelly Avenue, Janet Drive and Oak Lane in 7-14 days to apply a “fog seal” to the roadway to bind the material together.

The roadway markings will be applied at a later date.

Permits Now Required For Solar Installations

7 kW Residential Solar in HarrisburgEast Donegal Township now requires that permits be obtained prior to the installation of any rooftop or ground-mounted photovoltaic solar panel energy system.  Permit applications and other forms can be gotten from the Township offices or at the Township website at: https://eastdonegaltwp.com/departments/planningzoning/downloadable-forms/

Submission for a permit to install a rooftop or ground-mounted PV solar array system will require a completed application, a detailed site plan indicating the location and layout of the system as well as any and all structural modification necessary and all electrical components associated with the installation.  Contact the Township office for specific information.

Please be advised that regardless of the contractual arrangement identifying who is responsible for obtaining any required permits, as a contractor, you are, by law, responsible for ensuring that all permits are obtained prior to initiating projects for which permits are required .  Similarly, if you are a homeowner, you are equally, legally responsibility for ensuring that all permits are obtained prior to initiating projects for which permits are required.  As the contractor, or the homeowner, please verify with each other  that indeed required permits have been obtained.  This is applicable to all projects requiring a permit.

Board of Supervisors Schedule Additional Public Meetings For 2022

At the July 7th meeting of the Township Board of Supervisors, the Board took action to schedule additional public meetings for the remainder of 2022.

The additional meeting will take place the third Tuesday of the month and will start at 8:30 AM (note starting time for meetings) and will be held at the Township Municipal Building, 190 Rock Point Road.

Meeting dates are :

  • Tuesday, August 16, 2022
  • Tuesday, September 20, 2022
  • Tuesday, October 18, 2022
  • Tuesday, November 15, 2022
  • Tuesday, December 20, 2022

These public meetings are for the purposes of discussing any pending legislation, on-going projects or other Township business.
