Township Seeks Bids For Farming of Riverfront Park Land
The Board of Supervisors of East Donegal Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, will be receiving sealed proposals from interested parties to rent and farm an estimated 81 acres, located along Vinegar Ferry Road and the Susquehanna River in East Donegal and Conoy Townships. Interested parties can obtain a bid form at the Township Office located at 190 Rock Point Road, Marietta PA 17547 or by phoning (717) 426-3167. Bids must be submitted to the Township by 3:00 PM on Thursday, September 30, 2021, to be publicly opened at 3:15 PM on Thursday, September 30, 2021. The Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any and all proposal and to award the bid in the best interest of the Township.

County Requests Information Regarding Damages from Tropical Depression Ida
The Lancaster County Emergency Management Agency is requesting that citizens whom experienced damage to their property as a result of Tropical Depression Ida utilize the online damage reporting form found on the LEMA website. This portal will provide situational awareness for the county only, and is not an application for financial assistance. The information submitted by the citizens of Lancaster County will assist authorities in determining eligibility for requesting Federal financial assistance from agencies such as the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Small Business Administration.
This is not an application for, nor a guarantee of, financial assistance from municipal, county, state or federal sources. This initial damage assessment is strictly for information gathering only.
Citizens of Lancaster County that have experienced damage due to Tropical Depression Ida can report those damages to the Lancaster County Emergency Management Agency online at www.lancema.us.
Lancaster County Emergency Management Agency is also encouraging citizens to do the
following:
- Document all expenses related to Tropical Storm Ida, including keeping all receipts.
- Photograph any damages to your property.
- Contact your home and auto insurance agents regarding any damages you may have incurred.
- Contact a damage mitigation company to assist in repairs to your property.

Prepare For Hurricane Ida Remnants Hitting Area
Over the next 48 hours 3 to 5 inches of rain or more is expected to impact the East Donegal Township area.
Police, Fire, Emergency Medical, Public Works, and Emergency Management Services will be monitoring the situation and is prepared to respond to emergency incidents.
Residents in flood prone areas should also monitor the situation and be prepared to evacuate if necessary. Due to the Covid situation, it is recommended that evacuees attempt to make prior arrangements with family or friends on higher ground versus going to a mass care center. If a mass care center is required, EMA officials will work with the American Red Cross to identify a location.
Drivers are reminded to not drive through standing water or drive around road closed signs. “Turn Around, Don’t Drown”.
Citizens who have flood prone basements should test their sump pumps now to make sure they work prior to the rain beginning.
